Getting there
Directions By Car
If approaching from the east (Exeter) on the A38, pass through Plymouth and cross the Tamar bridge, staying on the A38 and heading for Liskeard. Pass through Landrake and Tideford to the Trerulefoot roundabout. Take the 1st exit off the island onto the A374 to Torpoint and Mount Edgcumbe. Approx 2 miles beyond the village of Polbathic turn right on to the B3247 and follow the signs to Millbrook and Mount Edgcumbe. Drive straight through Millbrook ignoring village centre sign. (For a more scenic approach you could take the coastal road along Whitsand Bay).
If approaching from the west take the 2nd exit off the Treulefoot island, from there follow the directions as above.
At the top of the hill you will see a red brick school building, turn right here to Kingsand / Cawsand and after about ½ mile bear right following signs to Cawsand.
Drive around the top of the village, passing Cawsand Fort on the right. Continue round a right hand bend where there are cannons on the left. As you come down into Cawsand village turn into Cawsand Square at the bottom and the house is the beige/yellow house on the seaward side opposite the Cross Keys pub.
There are two car parks in the village and some limited free parking. You can briefly park the car in the square to offload bags.
By Ferry
You can cross from Plymouth using the Cremyll ferry all year round then take the bus or walk to Cawsand; in summer months you can take the foot-ferry from Plymouth Steps in the harbour.
By Train
There are numerous trains to Plymouth and from there you can take a ferry or bus to Cawsand. There is also a train station at St Germans which is closer and on the main train line from London; from St Germans you will need to book a local taxi company to take you by road to Cawsand which takes around 20 mins.
